Perfect summer time in Paris
You are looking for the best summer destination? Your kids want to play on the sand, your partner is a food and wine amateur and you don't want to miss the last exciting exhibition...The best way to make everyone happy is to come to the city of light and, as a real Parisian, turn your summer in Paris into festive openair holidays!
Paris rocks its way!
Take your rain boots, your mini jean short and let your hair grow to be as wild as requested for your Parisian music festival! You can start by the ecological We love Green festival taking place in Bois de Vincennes from June 4th to June 5th, then pitch your tent in Parc de Longchamps for the 3 day Solidays festival (from June 24th to 26th) and be back for Rock en Seine festival in parc de Saint Cloud on August 26th, 27th and 28th. This summer you could also dance like Beyoncé during her concert at Stade de France on July 21st or sing with Rihanna, also performing at Stade de France on July 30th. You could also loose your voice during Bruce Springsteen concert on July 11th at Bercy.
For a more quiet and bucolic moment don't miss the Paris Jazz Festival taking place in the lovely Parc Floral garden. You can have a good picnic listening to a jazz band, and come with your children during the afternoons dedicated to kids where the children can meet the band after the concert and play the instruments! During this summer you could also visit the amazing exhibition dedicated to the Velvet underground at la Philarmonie in Parc de la Villette to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the famous Banana album, be wild!
Paris on the beach
The feet on the sand, sitting on a deck chair, a glass of rosé in your hand, you are taking the sun facing la Seine and it's so good! Paris Plage will be taking place from July 18th to August 21st and it is always the perfect occasion to build a beautiful sand castle in front of le Louvre... But Paris Plage is also along Bassin de la Villette, above Canal Saint Martin, and this place offers great aquatic activities: you can rent an electric boat for a ride to Parc de la Villette, have a rowing race, or even participate to the Open waters competition, a unique way to swim in Paris! During the week-end of July 2nd and 3rd, you could participate to the race for 1, 2 or 5 km in Canal de la Villette, so take a deep breathe and take the plunge! If you prefer the blue water of a swimming pool, you should go to piscine Joséphine Baker, the only open pool on the river bank...
For an extreme and fun experience on the river, you could have a 20 mn ride on the Seine on board of a speed boat, definitely an unusual way to discover the city! As for a festive drink by the river, Berges de Seine is still the best place to enjoy a summer evening and dance outside, between the Eiffel Tower and Musée d'Orsay... Have some finger food at Rosa Bonheur sur Seine before reaching le Faust terrace to dance all night long!
