What's up in Paris for summer ?

The sweet scent of summer comes to the end of our nose, leaves, returns, leaves. But it's going to settle down eventually!  Get out glasses and tap shoes, and get ready, here are some addresses not to miss anything in Paris this summer!

Looking for freshness?

Everyone has their own way of refreshing themselves in summer torpor: for us it's ice cream and swimming!

Yummy ice cream!

ice roll .jpg

Ice cream yes, but not like the others. Do you know the Ice Roll? These ice creams in the form of rolls? Rolls made under your eyes, topped with fresh fruits. How do you find them? It's simple, it's rue des Petits Carreaux that it’s all happening. Unless you can catch one of their trolleys in Paris streets! For the most gourmands, it is possible to rent one just for you and your friends!

And in the new products there is also SUCRE GLACE. If you are walking near Pigalle or the Canal Saint-Martin, you must stop in this small artisanal glacier which I hope you will enjoy as much as we do! We were worried because the Canal boutique remained closed for a long time, but it has reopened again, and there is even a new boutique on rue des Martyrs with a small tea salon. Shall we go? Salted butter caramel, quercy melon, apricot and rosemary... Well OK I stop, it's cruel… but you get it, you have to go!

The Bassin de la Villette

Looking for a little splash? Take on your bathing suit and towel and head for the Bassin de la Villette! As part of "Paris Plages", and for the 3rd year, this swimming pool with three pools for young and old is filled directly with the water from the canal (and filtered!): no water waste! And on top of that, it's free. The little bath of freshness before starting the most Parisian pétanque along the canal!

Music is in the air

Music festival, open-air festival or street musicians. Summer in Paris will be musical!

We love Green Festival

Music, Nature, Good Vibes... Do these words make sense? Let yourself be guided directly to the We love Green festival!

Last year there were 74,000 ps. Will you be one of them this year? And don't forget that this is not just another festival! You will dance all day listening to various artists: True! But for a good cause. A place for exchange and sharing on environmental causes: "We love"!

Glazart Beach

It is at the Porte de la Villette that this ephemeral bar comes to life every year. Its particularity? A sandbar and a concert stage set up just for you. The only thing to do? Relax by listening to the music, sipping your cocktails on mismatched deckchairs. Isn't life beautiful?

Rosa Bonheur

Have you heard of Rosa Bonheur? A place that exudes a good mood! For young and old: No fuss here! Small dishes and tapas served with love in a lively atmosphere. Moreover, as I’m writing those words, Rosa Bonheur sur Seine is having a new lifting . Looking forward to rediscovering it!

Expo expo expo!

Protect oneself from a summer rain storm or enjoy the cool air at the shade of paintings… This year again you’ll have choice! Small exhibitions, big ones, temporary or permanent… So many to please each of you. This summer, let’s meet with amazing people.

Calder-Picasso and Helena Rubinstein

Helena Rubinstein.jpg

How would you feel about meeting Helena Rubinstein at the MAJH? Of Helena Rubinstein, we mostly know the Brand. But one doesn’t know that well the woman and the story of the building of this amazing Empire of Beauty. A story that started at the end of the 19th century in a modest Jewish family of Cracovy (Poland), and that leads to the success we all know about. A story that is the one of an amazing woman, pioneer, ambitious, daring, who understood before everyone the. keys of marketing, communication, client services. A woman, who, when in NYC in the 30ies was refused the rental of a penthouse because of her Jewish origins, « simply » decided to buy the whole building! :-)

Or maybe you’d rather visit Calder and Picasso? No need to introduce them to you, but it is a « dialogue » between these to artistic giants that we discover in that exhibition of Musée Picasso. An « artistic dialogue » between two men that hardly new each other personally but who observed each other’s works closely,  a « conversation », conscious or unconscious, between shapes, space, void.

We’ve been there on the opening day (see our post here) and loved it

The Pyramide of the Louvre

30 years old, the Pyramid is 30 years old!  It means a lot, especially when it's one of the greatest monuments in Paris. The incredible trompe l'oeil of JR at the foot of the Pyramid, or intriguing. Night in the Louvre to win.... Already very exciting! (even if we didn't win ;-)) We too thought the show was over, but the Louvre still has some nice surprises in store for us! 2 free shows are coming soon: A large symphonic concert will take place under the pyramid, for the « Fête de la musique ». The other will take place in mid-July and will combine Break Dance and Mozart. Should be really really nice!

Our little pearl

restaurant sur les toits de Paris.jpg

It's this summer or never! This ephemeral restaurant has placed its suitcases on the rooftops of Paris to delight us during the summer. We're intrigued, so intrigued! Booking by private message on Instagram, no name indication on site, an elevator to take us directly to the roof and successive chefs from all over the world to prepare dishes for 8 months. Not just a dish to enjoy, but a real experience to live. We can't wait!
